Tamil actor Vishal, director Sundar C and music composer Hiphop Tamizha are all set to reunite for an upcoming film titled Purushan, the makers announced on Wednesday (January 21) with a title teaser. Featuring Tamannaah Bhatia as the female lead, the film is produced by ACS Arun Kumar.
The teaser shows Vishal play a meek husband to Tamannaah’s character. A popular television actor (played by Yogi Babu) enters their home, uttering his famous dialogue “It isn’t enough to be a husband, you have to be the husband of the year!” The actor feels pity for her husband, but things change when a gang of intruders attack Vishal in the kitchen, unbeknownst to his wife. Yogi witnesses Vishal beat them to a pulp, while Tamannaah believes that he’s making tea for Yogi. The film promises an on-brand Sundar C action entertainer.
Purushan has a screenplay and dialogues written by Venkatt Ragavan. Other details regarding the rest of the cast remain unknown.
The film has cinematography by Gopi Amarnath and editing by Roger. Actor and Sundar’s wife, Khushbu Sundar, presents the film under the Avni Cinemax banner.
Notably, Vishal, Sundar and Hiphop Tamizha previously collaborated on 2015’s Aambala and 2019’s Action. The upcoming film marks the fourth collaboration between Vishal and Sundar and the fifth collaboration between Vishal and Hiphop Tamizha. Meanwhile, the composer has previously scored music for five films of Sundar. The upcoming films, Mookuthi Amman 2 and Purushan, will mark their sixth and seventh films together, respectively.
