Chennai: A woman, who snatched a gold chain from a passenger on a bus at Red Hills on Tuesday night, was caught red-handed. The incident occurred onboard an MTC bus headed on route 57, operating between Moolakadai and Red Hills. A woman and three men boarded the vehicle and snatched a woman’s thaali. When they attempted to jump off the bus, passengers caught hold of the woman and recovered the chain from her. The victim sustained injuries to her neck during the assault. The men managed to jump off the bus and escape. The accused woman pretended to be mentally ill, but passengers handed her over to Red Hills police. Officers are trying to ascertain her identity. TNN
