The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) on Wednesday (January 21, 2026) carried out simultaneous inspections at 10 locations across Telangana in connection with a fresh disproportionate assets case registered against suspended Hanumakonda Additional Collector (Revenue), A. Venkat Reddy, who was trapped by the ACB last month while accepting a bribe.
According to sources, 10 ACB teams are carrying out searches at his residence in Rock Town Colony, L.B. Nagar residence, another house in Manchirevula Villas and other locations in Hyderabad, Rangareddy and Warangal districts linked to him and his associates, as part of an ongoing probe into allegations that he amassed assets far beyond his known sources of income..
Earlier on December 5, 2025, the ACB Warangal Range Unit trapped Venkat Reddy while he demanded and accepted a bribe of ₹60,000 inside the Integrated District Officers Complex.
According to the ACB, the bribe was received through an intermediary, identified as Kanneboina Manoj, a junior assistant working in the office of the District Education Officer, for processing files related to the renewal of recognition for Creative Model School’s primary and high school sections. Interestingly, investigations revealed that the senior assistant Mohd Ghousuddin had earlier demanded the same amount for the official favour.
The following day, ACB carried out early morning raids at his residence which stretched into several hours and led to the seizure of more than ₹30.3 lakh in cash, several land-related documents and details of multiple bank lockers. Based on the findings, the Bureau registered a disproportionate assets case on January 21, 2026, launched surprise inspections. Further investigation is underway.
