A Special Sub-Inspector (SSI) attached to the Paramakudi Town Police Station was arrested on Sunday for allegedly filming a female colleague in a restroom.
The incident occurred during the security deployment for the Chief Minister’s visit to Paramakudi on Saturday.
The victim, a policewoman hailing from Thanjavur, was on duty near a checkpoint in Mani Nagar when she spotted a hidden mobile phone recording in the restroom.
The phone was traced back to SSI Muthupandi (45), who was also on security duty in the same area. A preliminary check of the device revealed several clips of female personnel.
Following a formal complaint, the police registered a case and took Muthupandi into custody. He was suspended on Sunday.
