Prime Minister Narendra Modi attended the Somnath Swabhiman Parv celebrations during his two-day visit to Gujarat and witnessed a grand drone show and fireworks at the Somnath Temple. He offered prayers, joined Omkar Mantra chanting and was welcomed by a large crowd. PM Modi said the nation has united to commemorate 1,000 years since Mahmud of Ghazni’s first attack on the Somnath Temple in 1026. As part of the celebrations, the temple premises were illuminated, while around 3,000 drones created stunning visuals over the Arabian Sea, showcasing symbols like Trishul, Om, Lord Shiva’s Tandav, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel and the Swabhiman Parv logo. The 15-minute drone show, followed by fireworks, filled devotees with pride and joy.
