NEW DELHI: In the last year, Delhi Police found 1,303 missing persons, including 434 children and 869 adults, under Operation Milap in the southwest district. Of these, 102 missing persons were traced in Dec alone, including 35 children and 67 adults, reflecting sustained efforts by district police teams throughout the year.“Local informers, along with records of nearby police stations and hospitals, played an important role in tracing missing persons. Inquiries were also conducted by displaying photographs of missing individuals at key transport hubs, including auto stands, e-rickshaw stands, bus stands and railway stations,” said DCP (southwest) Amit Goel.Police data shows that during December, the highest number of missing children were traced by Kapashera, Sagarpur and Palam Village police stations. Kapashera police traced 12 missing children, all girls, while Sagarpur traced eight children, including two boys and six girls. Palam Village police traced four children, comprising two boys and two girls.In adult cases during the same period, Sagarpur police traced the highest number, locating 16 missing adults, including four men and twelve women. Kapashera police traced five missing adults, followed by Palam Village and Vasant Kunj South police stations.The remaining missing persons were traced by police teams from Vasant Kunj North, Kishangarh, Vasant Kunj South, R.K. Puram, Sarojini Nagar, S.J. Enclave, South Campus and Delhi Cantt areas.
