Ten couples entered into wedlock in a free mass marriage function held at the Sai Baba temple in Ibrahimpur in Shahapur taluk in the district on Saturday to mark the fourth year annual fair.
Before the marriage ceremony, the couples followed the rituals of Sai Siddashrama and participated in the special pujas organised by the Sai Baba temple trust.
Maharaj Diggi, temple trust president, said that mass marriages help poor families. The trust has been organising mass marriages for many years, extending helping hands to poor families, he said.
Sri Shantaveera Guru Murugharajendra Swamiji of Khasamutt and seers of various religious mutts, former MLA Guru Patil, Sharanappa Saladpur, Chairman of Karnataka State Temperance Board, Siddapa Hotti, Chairman of Kannada Sahitya Parishat, Vishwaradhya Satyampet, Siddaram Honakal, Neelakant Badiger, Umesh Mudnal, Siddappaji Diggi, and others were present.
