A 60-year-old farm labourer died after he came into contact with an illegal electric fence on Tuesday.
C. Raman, a resident of Kottachedu in Yercaud, was working as a farm labourer at Senkattur near Veeranam. On Tuesday morning, he was found dead near farmland owned by S. Raman. The Veeranam police went to the spot and found the farmland owner had installed an illegal electric fence in the land to prevent wild boar from entering, which Raman had touched. The police registered a case and are on the lookout for the farmland owner who is absconding.
