Happy Thala Day: Fifa Celebrates Dhoni’s Birthday With Post Featuring Ronaldo
Fomer India skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni turned a year older today as the world celebrates his 44th birthday on Monday.
While messages poured in from across the cricketing fraternity and fans, Fifa’s Instagram handle surprised everyone with a special post for India’s ‘Captan Cool’.
Cricketing fans soon flooded the post with “Thala for a reason,” “Happy birthday mahi,” “Happy birthday thala” comments. The post went past 65k likes within an hour.
Meanwhile, Chief Minister of Dhoni’s second home state ‘Tamil Nadu’ MK Stalin greeted heaped praises on him.
Dhoni, Who led the Chennai-based IPL franchise to victory five times, eared the name ‘Thala’ from the fans, which translates to “leader.”
The ruling DMK president also described Dhoni as an “OG,” a term used to refer to an exceptional individual in a particular field.
“Happy birthday to @msdhoni, a rare OG, who turned pressure into poetry with every move. You proved that greatness isn’t born, it’s built – one decision, one run, one quiet triumph at a time. #HappyBirthdayDhoni,” the CM said in a post on ‘X.’
He also shared a picture of him with the IPL star.
