Delhi: Chile’s Ambassador to India, Juan Angulo, on Friday said negotiations on the India-Chile Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA) are moving towards their final stage. He said four rounds of talks have already been held and expressed optimism that the upcoming fifth round could conclude the process. Angulo noted that the agreement covers more than 20 chapters, with market access and critical minerals among the key focus areas. Calling CEPA a mutually beneficial arrangement, he said it would strengthen trade, investment and economic cooperation. The envoy also highlighted existing and proposed agreements, including the double taxation avoidance treaty and a social security pact, which would further facilitate cross-border investment and mobility between the two countries.
