AP To Deploy India’s First Indigenously Built 8-Qubit Quantum Computer in Amaravati: CM



Vijayawada: Andhra Pradesh would deploy India’s first indigenously built 8-qubit quantum computer in Amaravati in November, with support from QpiAI.

This was announced here on Thursday by Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu here on Thursday after diiscussions with Dr Nagendra Nagaraja, the QpiAI founder.

Naidu said, “Our initiative, backed by the National Quantum Mission, aims to transform agriculture, water management and health care. I would like to congratulate QpiAI founder, Nagendra Nagaraja and express my gratitude to the National Quantum Mission for their support to this project.”

The state government has said QpiAI would be a key partner in the prestigious Amaravati Quantum Valley project. As part of the National Quantum Mission, Amaravati would soon become the first city in India to establish a dedicated quantum valley, with QpiAI contributing to the development of an advanced 8-qubit quantum computer.

The Chief Minister emphasized the importance of creating a centre that would not only facilitate innovative solutions for the public but also support research opportunities for students.

Additionally, he invited QpiAI to establish a Center of Excellence in Amaravati, providing students, researchers and startups the chance to develop quantum algorithms and applications.

The CM highlighted the potential for quantum computing to enhance precision in various sectors, particularly in agriculture, by assessing crop conditions and pest-related issues. He expressed the hope that this technology would offer timely recommendations and advice to boost agricultural productivity, ultimately increasing farmers’ incomes.

Naidu said, “The government is also exploring the use of quantum technology to manage water resources effectively. We believe that quantum simulation could be effectively utilized for disease diagnosis and medical logistics. Plans are under way to enhance skill development for youth through the integration of quantum technology.”

The CM reiterated the government’s commitment to leveraging modern technologies like quantum computing to improve the social and economic conditions of ordinary people.

Naidu said the collaboration between QpiAI, the National Quantum Mission and the Amaravati Quantum Valley aimed to deliver extensive benefits to society in the fields of education, research and innovation through deep tech initiatives.
