The 14th State conference of the All India Democratic Women’s Association (AIDWA) began at Kanathil Jameela Nagar (AKG Hall) here on Tuesday.
AIDWA all-India secretary Mariam Dhawale inaugurated the three-day event.
Reception committee general convener T.N. Seema delivered the welcome address. AIDWA all India president P.K. Sreemathy presented the organisation report and State secretary C.S. Sujatha the work report.
AIDWA all-India vice-presidents U. Vasuki and K.K. Shailaja attended.
The first resolution at the conference was to end the Union government’s neglect towards Kerala.
Another resolution presented was against the disruption of the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme.
The conference will conclude with the election of new office-bearers at noon on Thursday.
