A 30-year-old woman was killed, allegedly by her husband, in the wee hours of Tuesday, at their residence in Bhagya Nagar Colony of Saroornagar.
The victim, Takada Ammulu, a native of East Godavari district in Andhra Pradesh, was strangled with a scarf by her husband Mariya Dhas, 35, following a heated argument. The couple, who got married in 2013, had been living in Hyderabad with their two children for the past three years.
According to the police, the relationship had been strained, with both reportedly accusing each other of extramarital affairs. The quarrel escalated on the night of June 9, and at around 1 a.m., Dhas allegedly killed Ammulu during the altercation.
After the incident, Dhas is said to have alerted his father-in-law, Arjuna, who lived in a house opposite theirs. Seeing his daughter lying unresponsive, Arjuna approached the police.
A case was booked and further investigation is underway.
