A volume of essays in honour of retired Professor Harish Narang, who headed the Centre for English Studies at Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU), was released in the Capital on Saturday. Titled ‘Language, Literature, Culture and Cinema: Essays in Honour of Harish Narang’, the volume consists of 33 chapters divided into sections such as ‘Bhasha literature’, ‘Constructing India from the margins’, ‘Reading Literature and the Allied Arts’, ‘Diaspora’, ‘Comparative Literature’, ‘Black Sensibilities’ and at the end, a section on Prof. Narang’s own creative work.
The volume has a foreword written by Padma Bhushan winner and former pro Vice Chancellor of JNU, Prof. Kapil Kapoor. The volume editors are Madhumita Chakraborty of Delhi University and Anuradha Ghosh and Mukesh Ranjan of Jamia Millia Islamia.
