His removal marks the first major staff shakeup in the new term. Deputy NSA Alex Wong may also depart soon. Potential replacements include Marco Rubio and Christopher Landau. Critics argue Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth, who was also part of the leak, should go instead, but Trump is reportedly reluctant to remove him.
