Bengaluru: The mystery behind the skeletal remains recovered from the percolation pit of an apartment in Begur recently took an interesting turn: Experts from forensic science laboratory found the skeletal remains to be that of a man.On June 16, workers found a few bones while cleaning the pit near the apartment’s parking lot. Constructed in 2012, the apartment, with around 45 flats, was fully occupied by 2015. According to residents, particularly senior citizens, the complex was built on a burial ground. However, police are yet to verify the land records.Deputy commissioner of police (south east) Sarah Fathima confirmed to TOI that the remains were of a man. “But to determine the age and other details, we need more time. FSL has sought more materials to continue their investigation. So, with workers’ help, we dug the pit again and found a few more bones. They have been handed over to FSL,” she said.
