Filmmaker SS Rajamouli on Sunday (April 27) confirmed that Telugu star Nani will be a part of his dream project, the film adaptation of the ancient Indian epic ‘Mahabharata’. The filmmaker, who directed Nani in Eega, revealed the same at the pre-release event of Nani’s upcoming release HIT: The Third Casein Hyderabad.
At the event, anchor Suma Kanakala asked the RRR-maker if the rumours about Nani’s casting for a specific role in the film are true, to which Rajamouli replied, “It’s true that Nani will be a part of it.” The answer got thunderous applause from the crowd.

Rajamouli has been talking about realising his dream of adapting ‘Mahabharata’ for quite some time now. In an earlier interview, the filmmaker had said that it might turn out to be a 10-part franchise.
Meanwhile, the director is currently working on his upcoming film with Mahesh Babu. Tentatively called SSMB29, the globe-trotting jungle adventure also stars Priyanka Chopra Jonas and Prithviraj Sukumaran.
Nani’s HIT: The Third Case is the third Telugu film in the HIT (Homicide Intervention Team) universe or HIT-verse. Directed by Sailesh Kolanu, the film has Srinidhi Shetty playing the female lead. Produced by Nani and Prashanti Tipirneni’s Wall Poster Cinema and Unanimous Productions, the film releases in theatres this Thursday, May 1.
