Platform-based workers in Delhi continued with their daily deliveries and transport services despite a nationwide strike call given by the Indian Federation of App-Based Transport Workers (IFAT) on Wednesday. The strike has been launched to protest low and inconsistent earnings, lack of social security, and concerns over working conditions faced by app-based workers. A delivery agent said the strike was relaxed in Delhi keeping in mind people dependent on daily wages, even as protests continued across several parts of the country. IFAT has been demanding better pay structures and stronger labour protections for gig and platform workers.
