Newbeat has dropped their first full-length album, Raw and Rad, offering a definitive introduction to the rookie group’s sound, persona, and creative vision.
Newbeat, formerly known as HinLove, is a seven-piece boy group under Beat Interactive. Featuring members Park Minseok, Hong Minsung, Jeon Yeoyeojeong, Choi Seohyun, Kim Taeyang, Jo Yunhu, and Kim Riwoo, the group steps into the spotlight with Raw and Rad—a dynamic collection of tracks that, according to Park Minseok, reflects the true essence of Newbeat. “Every track on Raw and Rad tells a different part of our story, and we hope listeners can feel our honesty and passion in every beat.”
The album features the pre-release singles “Jello (Sleepers)” and “Hiccups,” rife with funky beats and percussion breaks, serving as a preview to the mood of the record. Meanwhile, the intro and outro tracks frame the listening experience, along with seven new songs to round off the offering.
Each track on the album is like a new episode in Newbeat’s unfolding story—for example, the title track, “Flip the Coin,” conveys how different viewpoints act like a catalyst influencing opinions. The song “F.L.Y (Fu**ing Lovely, Lonely Youth),” on the other hand, juxtaposes the charm and melancholy of adolescence or the experiences of becoming an adult, while “Wonder” is a love song sung by Jeon Yeoyeojeong. “Recording ‘Wonder’ was a special experience for me,” he states, adding, “It’s a dreamy, emotional track that captures the feeling of unspoken love and youth. I hope listeners can imagine their own story as they hear it—and feel the same butterflies I felt while singing it.”
Strategically placing previously released singles within a set of new songs is a well-calculated move, as we’ve seen many artists do, notably in K-pop to create a dynamic interplay between the known and the novel. Not only does this invite listeners to engage with the band or the artist’s evolving soundscape, but it also helps to build a sizable body of work that allows them to experiment with different musical genres and subjects.
Park Minseok shared in a press statement that while the members’ debut with a full-length album was both exciting and nerve-racking, Raw and Rad is an authentic reflection of their emotions, fearless spirit and vulnerabilities.
Raw and Rad, in essence, articulates Newbeat’s emotions, fearless spirit, and vulnerabilities. That’s why I believe the band decided to release a full-length album rather than a shorter EP to quickly build a sizable body of work—one that has allowed them to experiment with different musical genres and subjects.

Following the 2016 Uri terror attack, the Indian Motion Picture Producers’ Association (IMPPA) and the All Indian Cine Workers Association (AICWA) announced a ban on Pakistani artists from participating in Indian cinema. Since then, there has been an unofficial freeze on collaborations with Pakistani artists.
Now, after the recent terror attack in Pahalgam, the relationship between India and Pakistan has again come under the scanner, with many opposing the film’s release.
On Wednesday, Fawad Khan also took to his Instagram stories, expressing sadness over the attack. He wrote, “Deeply saddened to hear the news of the heinous attack in Pahalgam. Our thoughts and prayers are with the victims of this horrifying incident, and we pray for strength and healing for their families in this difficult time.”

After the terror attack in Pahalgam, India has taken strict action against Pakistan. Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his team have taken the top 5 decisions taken against Pakistan in the CCS meeting. The Indian government has banned the visas issued to Pakistani citizens. Apart from this, SAARC Visa Exemption Scheme (SVES) has also been stopped with immediate effect. Visa holders traveling to India under SVES visas have been given an ultimatum to leave India within 48 hours. Other visa holders can return to Pakistan by May 1.
Post this strict decision of the Indian government, Seema Haider, who had come to India from Pakistan, has been in news. She was madly in love with Sachin Meena and the two got married. Sachin and Seema are proud parents to a baby girl. After Modi’s strict decisions, netizens are asking whether Seema Haider will return to Pakistan with her four kids.
Seema had traveled to India via Nepal. She reached Nepal from Sharjah, Pakistan on a tourist visa and spent a few days in the city. She then boarded a bus from Kathmandu to Delhi and reached India with four kids. Seema has been living in India with Sachin and her kids. On Wednesday, after Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri’s press briefing, the internet has been asking whether, “Will Seema Haider be asked to return to Pakistan too?”, “Should she be going back to Pakistan now?”, and others.
Seema Haider, 32, originally from Jacobabad in Sindh Province, Pakistan illegally crossed into India. She met Sachin online and fell for him. Now, social media users are speculating whether she will go back to her country after the Ministry of External Affairs’ (MEA) directive.
One user wrote, “Send Seema Haider back to Pakistan. Also investigate every security agency that allowed her to reach Uttar Pradesh crossing at least 3 national boundaries,” another commented, “When the government has asked all Pakistani nationals to leave India, why has Seema Haider been allowed to stay?” “Isme Seema Haider bhi jayegi ya usko special visa hai?”, said another.
Well, in 2023, Seema Haider — a mother of four and resident of Sindh entered India to be with a man from Uttar Pradesh she met while playing the online game PUBG. She left her husband, Ghulam Haider, in Pakistan and brought her four children and is currently settled in Greater Noida with Sachin.
