G. Venkitesh, a local functionary of the Kerala Vyapari Vyavasayi Ekopana Samiti (KVVES), was found dead in Kallayi river on Wednesday (May 14, 2025) morning. His body was reportedly found floating by a group of fishermen around 10 a.m.
According to police sources, Venkitesh went missing from his home on May 12. His wife had already lodged a petition with the Kasaba police, they said.
Venkitesh was the general secretary of the Samithi’s Palayam unit. He was also one of the active members of the association’s south zone area committee. The police have registered a case of unnatural death under Section 194 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita.
