Chatra: An intoxicated man killed his mother in Simratari village of Giddhaur police station area in Chatra district on Friday morning. The victim was identified as Maheshwari Devi(62) while her son, Anil Kumar Bhuiyan(35), was named as the killer.Locals said Anil had a history of domestic violence against his wife, who consequently went back to her parents’ house.Only he and his mother were living in the house at the time of the incident. The villagers became aware of the killing around 1 pm on Friday.”There was a wedding celebration adjacent to the house of the deceased in which both mother and son attended on Thursday night,” a villager said.On Friday, the absence of activities at the victim’s house raised concerns among the villagers. Upon closer inspection, they discovered the woman’s lifeless body with an inebriated Anil sitting nearby. Giddhaur police station officer-in-charge Amit Kumar Gupta said they have started an investigation into the case after taking Anil into custody.
