Jamshedpur: A criminal and his aide, who is an illegal arms supplier, were arrested.
SSP Kishore Kaushal said, “Accused in over a dozen criminal cases, Bhanu Majhi, was arrested from Uliyan under Kadma police station limits on Sunday. Bhanu is a hardcore criminal and was recently out on bail. The district police was in the process of externing him (zila badar).”
“Based on Majhi’s confessions, we raided a house at Gandak road colony under Sakchi police station and arrested arms supplier Rakesh Mandal alias Pakuri. He has three criminal cases, including under Arms Act, pending against him,” he added.
“Accused have revealed the details of the people from whom they used to obtain the illegal arms for supplying to criminals. More arrests are likely soon,” the SSP said.
An automated pistol, country-made revolver, three bullets, including two 7.55mm range bullets, were seized.
