Jamshedpur: The annual dog show of Jamshedpur Kennel Club (JKC) will be held between Jan 9-11, its organisers announced on Wednesday.The JKC said the 79th, 80th & 81st Championship Dog Show will be hosted at the archery ground of the J R D Tata Sports Complex. The event will include an obedience test, Labrador speciality show, Beagle speciality show and an all-breed show.In all, 326 dogs of 43 breeds will be competing in the show. Among them, a few exotic breeds will also feature this year. “The dog lovers will love to see Tibetian Mastiff, Chow Chow, Dogo Argentino and English Setter in the ring”, said JKC president Ruchi Narendran.In addition to this, native Indian breeds like Caravan Hound, Combai, Mudhol Hound, Pashmi and Raja Palayam are also participating in the event.For the pet lovers, there’s a special event lined up for this year’s show. The top eight dogs of the city will be ranked from 1st to 8th best in show, and two best handlers will be awarded at the event.The seven-member panel will feature members from Finland, Georgia, Thailand besides their counterparts from India. “The judges have agreed to be part of the competition willingly when we approached because they know ours is a very fair and good competition,” said Ruchi Narendran.
