The Guruvayur Municipality has won Platinum Award of the State Pollution Control Board for its outstanding achievements in environmental protection and pollution control.
At an international environment conclave held at Adlux International Convention Centre, Karukutty, Ernakulam, recently, Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan presented the award to municipal chairperson M. Krishnadas and vice- chairperson Anishma Shanoj.
The recognition adds to the municipality’s impressive list of accolades, which includes the State government’s Aardrakeralam Award (2023-24) for excellence in the health sector, the Swaraj Trophy (twice in succession), and the top spot in Kerala under the Malinyamuktha Nava Keralam (Waste-Free New Kerala) project.
