Galaxy S25 Edge just 5.8mm thin? Dummy model leak reveals what to expect

The Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge could be much thinner than initially expected, coming in at just 5.8mm. A potential dummy unit has been showcased in a video by a South Korea-based YouTuber, The Sinza, who specialises in tech.
This comes ahead of the official launch of the phone, which is reportedly set for April. The S25 Edge will be the fourth model in the S25 lineup, sitting alongside the Galaxy S25 Ultra, S25 Plus, and the standard S25.
YouTuber The Sinza has showcased dummy units of the S25 Edge in various colourways, giving us a preview of what could be the design of the upcoming device. Here are the details, read on.
S25 Edge To Be Just 5.8mm Thick?
It was always clear that the S25 Edge was going to be a thin phone. However, the new video posted by The Sinza suggests that the device could be just 5.8mm thick. This is reportedly similar to the expected thickness of the upcoming iPhone 17, which leaks suggest could be around 5.5mm.
As for the rest of the design, the dummy units closely resemble an earlier device showcased by Samsung in January during the S25 launch. The phone appears slim across the board, with a noticeable camera protrusion on the left side.
In fact, the YouTuber also compares it with the S25 Ultra, which is 8.2mm thick. The S25 Edge looks significantly slimmer in comparison.

What Else Do We Know About The S25 Edge?
Reports suggest that the S25 Edge could come with the Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy chip, the same processor used in the rest of the S25 lineup. It is also expected to feature 12GB of RAM.
The display could be a 6.6-inch AMOLED panel with a 120Hz refresh rate and Corning’s Gorilla Glass Victus 2 for added durability.
For the optics, the S25 Edge is confirmed to have a dual-camera setup, though the exact sensor specifications remain unclear. However, reports indicate that the primary camera could be a 200MP sensor, possibly accompanied by an ultra-wide shooter.
As for the battery, the capacity is expected to be between 3,000mAh and 4,000mAh.

With Android 16 in particular, a lot of information has already emerged. The beta versions are already available, but Google is reportedly expected to introduce several new additions at I/O, and that’s definitely something to look forward to.

WhatsApp Advanced Chat Privacy Feature Explained
This feature is designed for times when you want more privacy, such as during a sensitive conversation with someone you’ve just started talking to, or someone who has yet to earn your trust.
“When the setting is on, you can block others from exporting chats, auto-downloading media to their phone, and using messages for AI features,” WhatsApp said in its blog post.
