Former Ghum Hai Kisikey Pyaar Meiin star Aishwarya Sharma clarifies on rumours of trouble in marriage with Neil Bhatt; 'I've rented a place...'

Ghum Hai Kisikey Pyaar Meiin has been one of the top shows and has brought fame to many stars. The last season saw Neil Bhatt, Aishwarya Sharma and Ayesha Singh in the leads. Aishwarya Sharma and Neil Bhatt fell in love with each other on the sets of the show. The actors tied the knot in 2021 and since then they have been the power couple of the TV industry. They even entered Bigg Boss 17 house as a couple. But in recent times, there were rumours suggesting that there is trouble in their paradise.

Aishwarya Sharma, however, has now reacted to all the rumours surrounding their marriage troubles. The actress clarified that all is well between her and Neil Bhatt and nothing is wrong with their bond. The actress said that she is happily married and hit back at rumours stating that just because they don’t post pictures together that does not mean they are having issues. To entertainment news India Forums, Aishwarya Sharma added that she has taken up a house on rent only because of shoots. She said, “Yes, like any married couple, we do have our disagreements. The rumours about our marriage started because I’ve rented a place in Malad for my collaborations and shoots. It’s just more practical to have a dedicated space for work, which can be difficult when living with family.”

The former Ghum Hai Kisikey Pyaar Meiin star mentioned that they have taken a conscious call to not be clubbed together forever. She added, “We are individual actors with our own paths, but we always support each other.”

In Ghum Hai Kisikey Pyaar Meiin, Aishwarya Sharma played the role of Patralekha. Neil Bhatt played the role of ACP Virat Chavan. He was paired opposite Ayesha Singh in the show. Patralekha was the negative character in the show. After quitting the show, Aishwarya Sharma also participated in Khatron Ke Khiladi 13.

Khushee Ravi on ‘Ayyana Mane’: Thriller with a touch of supernatural

Khushee Ravi on ‘Ayyana Mane’: Thriller with a touch of supernatural

The web series, Ayyana Mane, starring Khushee Ravi, Akshya Nayak and Manasi Sudheer is written and directed by Ramesh Indira. “I play an innocent girl, Jaaji, who marries Dushyantha (played by Akshya Nayak) to become part of the sprawling Ayyana Mane household,” says Khushee.

“Jaaji values traditions, family values but is also curious and starts digging into the family’s past, which leads to many discoveries and the family’s dark secrets come tumbling out. Will she get embroiled in the darkness she discovers or not forms the crux of the story.”

Khushee, who has just returned to Bengaluru, post the completion of shooting is a known name in Kannada film and theatre circles. She also played the titular role in the 2020 Kannada film, Dia, and won accolades for portraying a brooding introvert. The film, released on digital platforms during the pandemic, was one of the most viewed films of the time.

Khushee made her feature film debut with the Kannada film The Great Story of Sodabuddi, in 2016 and went on to act in films such as Spooky College, Nakshe, and the Telugu film, Pindam.

Set in the 1990s, Ayyana Mane is shot in Chikamagalur and showcases local culture. Khushee describes Ayyana Mane as a mystery thriller with a touch of the paranormal. The six episode series is the first commissioned Kannada web series, Khushee says. “Here is hoping that there will be many more.”

Working with Ramesh Indira, whose name is synonymous with Kannada serials and cinema, Khushee says was a breeze. “I always wanted to work with him as I was familiar with his work. Even if you are unprepared but know your lines, he will make sure to bring out the best in you.”

It is great to work with a director who has absolute clarity about what they want from an actor, says Khushee. “Ramesh’s fame with Sapta Sagaradaache Ello, where he plays the antagonist, put him in the spotlight as an actor. I had seen his work as a director and a writer and now to see him on screen as an actor, was mind-boggling.”

Ramesh being adept in all these roles, makes him a director par excellence, Khushee says. “I was thrilled when he offered me the role in Ayyana Mane.”

Ramesh’s writing is strong, says Khushee. “Women always take the centre stage in his stories, be it his films, serials or a web series, like Ayyana Mane.

Khushee, who still reels from the success of Dia, says, “I owe everything to the film and its director,  KS Ashoka. To be identified with a character portrayed on screen even after five years, only shows how much people have connected with the story.”

However, Khushee says, “It is time to keep that aside and create some new stories and characters with which I again hope to create the same impact. Dia is and will always remain special to me.”

Khushee, who is working in other south Indian films, says every film industry is special. “Each has its own strengths and plus points. The added edge in the Telugu film industry is that they spoil you rotten on sets.”

Though today she is in the spotlight, Khushee is in no hurry to add numbers to her credit and looks for meaningful roles and powerful stories. This, she says, is because she comes from a theatre background.

“I trained under B Jayashree and worked with her in Spandana theatre group. Theatre changes you from inside and out. In the end, all that matters is stories, characters and their powerful portrayals on screen. I knew in my heart that I would not thrive in a nine-to-five job. I knew that acting is something I always wanted to pursue.”

In cinema, she looks forward to the release of the Kannada film Full Meals and Son of Muthanna.

Ayyana Mane is currently streaming on Zee5

Augusto Creations comes up with a novel theme for its latest Tamil play Akhila Kitty

Augusto is known for his scripts based on crime, and his latest play Akhila Kitty, staged for Kartik Fine Arts’ Kodai Nataka Vizha, also has crime as its theme. The titular character Akhila Kitty (Usha Nandini) is a much sought-after writer of mystery stories. Her thrillers, serialised in a magazine, boost its circulation. Unfortunately, Akhila dies before completing her latest story. The editor of the magazine hits upon an idea to shore up sales. He invites submissions to complete the story, with a prize for the best submission. There is a deluge of responses, including an AI-generated story! Vannappan’s (Pothilingam) story wins the prize.

It turns out that Akhila’s story was based on facts. There is a criminal at large, who has escaped the legal dragnet, thanks to a police officer who suppressed crucial evidence. Akhila had clinching proof about the criminal mastermind’s modus operandi, and was going to expose him through her story, before she died mysteriously. How he is snared forms the rest of the story.

For a suspense play to be appealing, the tempo is important. Augusto Creations’ Akhila Kitty had a promising start, but soon slowed down. The tenant Raju (Karthikeyan) served no purpose in the story. There could have been a lineup of suspects, all with possible motives, to keep the audience guessing till the end. Such a lineup would have been possible, if Akhila’s novel had been shown as half finished, instead of nearing its conclusion. The identity of the perpetrator was revealed midway through the play, and this took the edge off the excitement. The rest of the play was a mere formality. Shakila cheerfully indulging in light-hearted banter with Vannappan, soon after her sister Akhila’s death was odd. The sudden mellowing down of the villain, who had been bumping off those who were inconvenient to him, was not convincing. There were some well-written lines, for which Augusto must be complimented. The theme stood out for its novelty, but it could have been handled better.

Indian superstar Shah Rukh Khan made his debut at the Met Gala blue carpet on Tuesday (May 6, 2025, India time) in New York, dazzling in an all-black Sabyasachi ensemble. It was a historic moment as Khan became the first Indian male actor to attend the Met—along with Diljit Dosanjh.

Even as many around the world tuned in for Khan’s iconic debut, a section of the western press covering the event live seemed unaware of his global stature, with one reporter seemingly asking him his name. In one of the clips that have gone viral from the event, SRK is heard introducing himself to reporters, saying, “I’m Shah Rukh.”

One of the biggest stars of Indian cinema, Shah Rukh Khan is the fourth richest actor in the world, according to a recent list by Esquire Magazine. Khan’s films have transcended borders and left a lasting impact on global popular culture. As such, fans on social media were understandably outraged with a part of the media covering the MET. Terms such as ‘clueless’ and ‘disrespectful’ were used in posts decrying the treatment meted out to Khan. The incident has an echo of tennis player Maria Sharapova once saying she did not know who Sachin Tendulkar was.

Besides Khan, Diljit Dosanjh, Priyanka Chopra Jonas, Kiara Advani and designer Sabyasachi Mukherjee from India walked the blue carpet at the Met Gala 2025.

The Met Gala is dubbed one of fashion’s shiniest nights, held annually on the first Monday (ET) of May. It is an annual fundraising affair for the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Costume Institute.

This year, the Institute’s spring exhibit, “Superfine: Tailoring Black Style,” was the official theme of the night, spotlighting the sartorial tradition of Black Dandyism.
