Excise raids in Hyderabad net cannabis oil, army canteen liquor in separate cases, four arrested


Officials seized 91 grams of cannabis oil worth ₹3 lakh from the duo arrested on Friday in Hyderabad

Two individuals involved in the trade of cannabis oil were arrested by the Hyderabad enforcement team of the Telangana Excise and Prohibition Department on Friday, June 27. The officials seized 91 grams of cannabis oil worth ₹3 lakh from the duo.

The accused, identified as Raju from Kukatpally and MD Soyab from Musheerabad, were arrested during a raid near Sikh Village X roads in Secunderabad. Cases have also been registered against Kalyan Banu and Sheikh Imran, who are currently on the run.

The oil, according to officials, is commonly used to get intoxicated by applying it to cigarettes. The seized contraband and accused were handed over to the Secunderabad excise station for further investigation.

In a separate operation, two individuals were arrested for selling army canteen liquor during a raid carried out under the PVNR Flyover. A total of 15 liquor bottles and two beers were seized from them.
