New Delhi: University of Delhi has invited nominations for Dr Shankar Dayal Sharma (former President of India) gold medal, which will be awarded at the upcoming annual convocation, scheduled in Feb. The medal is awarded annually to a student adjudged best for general proficiency, considering character, academic excellence, extracurricular achievements, and social service. The awardee will be selected by a university standing committee approved by the vice-chancellor. Colleges and departments were asked to thoroughly screen applicants before forwarding nominations. Each institution can recommend only one suitable candidate, along with specific recommendations for consideration by the committee. Nominees must hold at least one DU degree with a minimum of 60% marks. In addition, the candidate should have participated in national or international sports or equivalent extracurricular activities, along with demonstrating academic excellence. Photocopies of relevant certificates must be attached to the nomination form. Nominations must be sent in a sealed envelope addressed to the controller of examinations. The last date for submission is Jan 16, 2026. The medal will be conferred at the 102nd annual convocation, scheduled to be held on Feb 28.
