The Bengaluru district Lokayukta officials caught a Commercial Tax inspector and his associate red-handed while allegedly taking a ₹20 lakh bribe from a Delhi-based pan masala company representative for an official favour.

On April 24, Nijanandamurthy was arrested under the Prevention of Corruption Act after his associate, Manoj M., was allegedly caught red-handed taking the bribe near a hotel at Nagarabhavi on behalf of the Inspector.
