CM to hold grievance hearing session in Sambalpur | Bhubaneswar News – The Times of India

Sambalpur: CM Mohan Charan Majhi will conduct a physical grievance hearing session at the Sambalpur Municipal Corporation (SMC) office, the first outside the state capital, on Monday.
The grievance cell, scheduled to begin at 8 am, will be attended by 11 ministers, including deputy CM K V Singh Deo, panchayati raj and water resources minister Rabi Narayan Naik announced during a preparatory inspection on Saturday.
The session will cater to residents from 10 western Odisha districts — Sambalpur, Deogarh, Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Bargarh, Balangir, Boudh, Kalahandi, Nuapada and Sonepur. “The initiative will significantly reduce the inconvenience of travelling to Bhubaneswar for grievance redressal,” said Naik.
SMC commissioner Vedbhusan said that approximately 1,000 grievances have been registered online and offline, with an additional 300-400 walk-in complainants expected. “On-spot registration facilities will be available under tent shelters equipped with coolers,” he added.
The corporation has made comprehensive arrangements for the event, including special facilities for differently-abled persons (wheelchairs, sign language interpreters and assistance for the visually impaired), water points and ORS stations and NGO-operated refreshment.
Naik emphasised the govnt’s commitment to addressing long-standing issues and monitoring the implementation of schemes. “We want this first-of-its-kind initiative to be successful and beneficial for the people,” he said. The grievance cell hearing will continue until all registered complaints are heard and addressed.
