
Biofactor, UoH join hands for nanotech in agriculture | Hyderabad News – The Times of India
Hyderabad: Agri-biotech player Biofactor inked an MoU with the University of Hyderabad’s School of Engineering Sciences & Technology to develop nanotechnology-driven solutions for sustainable farming. The collaboration is aimed at enhancing crop productivity, precision nutrient delivery, and eco-friendly nano-pesticides to ensure better resource efficiency and reduced chemical dependency.
The partnership will focus on biofortification and innovative nano-enabled inputs to benefit farmers with cost-effective, high-yield solutions. As part of the collaboration, the two partners will conduct comprehensive research on the synthesis of novel nanoparticles with versatile applications across diverse sectors. They will also collaborate on research focused on toxicity assays of nanoparticles to ensure safety and environmental compatibility.
Biofactor and UoH will also provide specialised training for scientists and technical staff in the synthesis, toxicity evaluation, and application of nanotechnology. They will undertake joint academia-industry research projects to foster innovation and translational outcomes in nanotechnology.
As part of the collaboration, Biofactor will offer internship opportunities in projects related to the application of nanotechnology in agriculture, poultry, fishery, among others, while UoH will provide exposure or training to scientists and technical staff of Biofactor in various areas of expertise available in nanotechnology.
