Industries and Commerce Minister T.G. Bharath said that the State government is taking steps to provide all the facilities in Government General Hospitals (GGHs) on par with corporate hospitals. Mr. Bharath on Tuesday launched the 128 slice double CT scan worth ₹6.74 crore at the Kurnool GGH in the presence of Panyam MLA Gouru Charitha Reddy.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr Bharath said that he has been focussing on developing his constituency and the GGH and as part of it. Mr Bharath said that the 128 slice double CT scan was provided with the CSR funds of Power Grid Corporation of Indian Limited. This facility is available in hospitals at big cities like Hyderabad and Mumbai, he said and appreciated the services of GGH hospitals for extending medical care to the lakhs of people visiting the hospital.
Mr. Bharath said that oxygen is supplied at ₹38 for a cubic meter to all the government hospitals in the State including that in Kurnool, while private hospitals are getting oxygen at ₹12 for a cubic meter. “I took up the issue with the government and will take steps to either get the contract terminated or supply oxygen at a cheaper rate,” he said.
GGH Superintendent Dr. Venkateswarlu, Power Grid Corporation of India Limited DGM Srinivasa Murthy and others were also present.
