Festive season congestion and Sarjapur road closure ahead

NEW DELHI: The Bengaluru Traffic Police (BTP) has warned commuters about expected traffic disruptions in the city over the coming days due to two major factors: ongoing Navratri and Durga Puja celebrations at Palace Grounds, and roadwork on Sarjapur Road.1. Traffic Congestion on Bellary Road (September 28 – October 2)With large-scale Navratri and Durga Puja events scheduled at Palace Grounds, heavy traffic congestion is expected on Bellary Road from September 28 through October 2.Authorities have advised commuters to plan their journeys ahead of time, start early, and consider alternate routes to avoid delays. The area will experience increased vehicle and pedestrian movement, particularly in the evenings. Traffic marshals will be deployed to help manage the flow, but congestion is anticipated.2. Partial Road Closure on Sarjapur Road for White-Topping (Starting September 30)White-topping work will commence on September 30 on Sarjapur Road, specifically between Automart Junction and Agara Junction, and is expected to last for about two months. Due to this, one side of Sarjapur Road will remain closed, impacting normal traffic patterns.Traffic Directions During Roadwork:

  • Vehicles will be allowed to travel from Koramangala Jakkasandra towards Agara and Outer Ring Road.
  • Traffic from Agara and Outer Ring Road towards Koramangala Jakkasandra will be restricted.

Recommended Alternate Routes:Vehicles heading from Outer Ring Road towards Koramangala are advised to use the following route: take the Agara Flyover upper ramp, enter the service road at either the 19th Main Road Junction or 14th Main Road upper ramp, proceed to the 14th Main Road Junction, make a right turn, and continue towards Automart side.Commuters are requested to cooperate with traffic officials and follow the signage to ensure smooth traffic movement during this period.
