Alia Bhatt reveals she sends emails to Raha, wants to gift her a memory book when she’s 15: ‘I can’t be a perfect parent’ | Hindi Movie News – The Times of India

Alia Bhatt is quite a doting mom ever since daughter Raha has come into her life. Ranbir Kapoor and Alia became parents to a daughter in November 2022. In a recent interview, Alia has opened up at length on her motherhood experience. She also revealed that Ranbir is a completely different person after Raha’s birth. Alia also said that know she knows exactly what her mother went through and how a parent feels about their children, no matter how old they grow.
Alia revealed in a podcast with Jay Shetty that she sends mails to Raha every day with all her memories, pictures, videos and short notes, so that Raha can have it all as a memory when she grows up. Alia said, “I’m doing this thing where I’m sending Raha emails. I’ve been doing this ever since she was born. I do it every month. Just an amalgamation of photos, videos, what happened, thoughts, and feelings. Somebody said it’s like a summary. I thought it’s a great idea. It’s a life memory book. I don’t have the discipline and the energy to fill out a physical memory book. So I thought this is a nice, digital memory book. It’s easier and it’s nice. Maybe when she’s 15, I’d gift it to her and say, ‘Listen, this is all the memories we collected for you over the years. Go ahead, have some fun.”
Opening up on her parenthood journey, Alia added that she’s just trying her best. “I know I can’t be a perfect parent. I can just be good enough. But I have to be able to be so present and one with her feeling what she’s feeling, asserting certain values and behaviour, but also just letting her be. There are so many of these permutations and combinations that I’m constantly toying with. So that’s another worry — the future, the life. Then of course, there’s the physical thing — has she eaten well, is she sleeping well, what’s gonna happen tomorrow, what’s gonna happen day after,” she said.
Alia also acknowledged the fact that she is privileged to have help with Raha and also have a good support system in terms of family. “And again, I’m a working mum. I have to acknowledge my privilege. I have a great support system around her. But the worry is not going to leave me. Like, ‘Oh I’m away, will she pick up on something I wouldn’t want her to pick up on?’ All these things. But you just take one day as it comes and just move forward. It’s a very real feeling and it’s not one I got figured out from day one. I’m constantly wrapping my head around it on a daily basis. But apart from that, it’s joyous.”
During this chat, Alia also revealed that they have a baby boy’s name in mind, in case, they have a second child after Raha and it’s a boy.
