‘Adi Shankaracharya Unified India Through Ideas’, Says Amit Shah At Ahmedabad Granthavali Launch

Amit Shah on Thursday credited Adi Shankaracharya with laying the foundations of India’s spiritual and intellectual unity, saying the scholar-saint ensured Sanatana Dharma flourished across all regions of the country. Addressing an event in Ahmedabad marking the release of Shankaracharya’s collected works in Gujarati, Shah said few individuals achieved as much in such a short lifetime. He noted that the four monasteries established by Shankaracharya became enduring centres of learning, safeguarding the Vedas and strengthening India’s philosophical traditions. Shah said Shankaracharya addressed doubts surrounding Sanatana Dharma during an era of intense intellectual churn and offered clarity through logic, synthesis, and lived practice, leaving behind a legacy that continues to shape India’s cultural consciousness.
