CISF recruitment 2025: The Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) is set to close applications for 1161 posts of Constable Tradesman in a range of trades. The recruitment process offers opportunities for both male and female candidates across various categories, including cook, cobbler, tailor, barber, washerman, painter, carpenter, electrician, gardener, welder, charge mechanic, and MP attendant. The last date to submit applications is fast approaching, with the final day being April 3, 2025.
This recruitment initiative by CISF is a significant opportunity for those looking to serve in the force. Candidates who meet the eligibility criteria are encouraged to apply without delay, as the application period will end soon. The selection process involves multiple stages, including a physical ability test, physical standard test, document verification, trade test, written examination, and medical examination.
Vacancy details and categories
Among the 1161 available posts, the cook trade has the highest number of vacancies, with 493 positions open. Of these, 400 posts are for male candidates, 44 for females, and 49 for ex-servicemen. Other trades also have specified allocations based on gender and category, such as 9 posts for cobblers (7 for males, 1 for females, and 1 for ex-servicemen) and 23 for tailors (19 for males, 2 for females, and 2 for ex-servicemen).
Other trades like washerman and carpenter also have a considerable number of vacancies. The total number of posts in the washerman trade is 262, with 212 allocated for males, 24 for females, and 26 for ex-servicemen. Carpenter trade has 9 posts in total, with 7 for males, 1 for females, and 1 for ex-servicemen. The remaining trades, including electrician, welder, and MP attendant, have fewer vacancies, with a maximum of 4 posts each.
Physical and age criteria
Candidates must meet the physical standards set for the recruitment process. For males, the minimum height requirement is 170 cm, while for females, it is 157 cm. There are relaxations in height for candidates from specific regions, such as Garhwal, Kumaon, and North Eastern states. In addition to the height, males must have a chest measurement of 80 cm (78 cm for certain regions) with a 5 cm expansion. The weight should be proportionate to the candidate’s height and age.
The age limit for applicants is between 18 and 23 years, calculated as of August 1, 2025. However, there are relaxations in the upper age limit: OBC candidates, ex-servicemen, and candidates from reserved categories such as SC/ST are eligible for age relaxations ranging from 3 to 5 years.

BPSC Mains exam day: Important guidelines
Here are the key instructions that candidates should follow on the day of the exam:
- Reporting Time: Candidates must report at least one hour before the commencement of the exam.
- Admit Card: Carry a clear printout of the e-admit card issued by BPSC.
- Valid Photo ID: Bring a valid original photo identification card such as Aadhar Card, Voter ID, or Driving License.
- Photographs: Carry two recent passport-size photographs, matching the one uploaded in the admit card.
- Instructions Booklet: Read and strictly follow the instructions printed on the Question and Answer booklet.
- Seating Arrangement: After reaching the centre, candidates must locate and verify their allotted seat.
- Declaration Form (if applicable): Candidates with unclear photo/signature in their application must bring a filled and gazetted officer-attested declaration form with an affixed photo and signature.
- Calculator Use:
- April 26 (General Studies-I): Use of simple calculator is permitted.
- Mathematics/Statistics (Optional Paper): Candidates for Financial Administrative Officer optional subjects can use a scientific calculator.
- April 29 (Optional Objective Paper): Calculators are not allowed.
- Prohibited Items: Do not bring any electronic gadgets such as mobile phones, Bluetooth devices, or smartwatches.
- Writing Instruments: Only blue or black ballpoint pens are permitted.
- Stationery: Carry required items like pencil and ruler in a transparent pouch.

JKSET, LASET 2025 postponed to May 11, admit cards to be released in first week of May: Check official notification and revised schedule here – The Times of India

The University of Jammu has officially postponed the Jammu and Kashmir State Eligibility Test (JKSET) 2025 and Ladakh State Eligibility Test (LASET) 2025. As per the revised schedule, both exams will now be conducted on May 11, 2025. The decision to reschedule was taken due to a clash with an examination being held by the Board of Professional Entrance Examination (BOPEE) on the earlier scheduled date, April 27, 2025.
The JKSET and LASET serve as eligibility tests for the post of Assistant Professor in colleges and universities in Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh. The examinations will be conducted by the University of Jammu in two sessions on the same day.

The official notification released by the University of Jammu reads, “It is notified for the information of all the concerned that JKSET/LASET-2025 examination earlier scheduled on 27.04.2025 (Sunday) has been postponed due to clash with an Examination of Board of Professional Entrance Examination (BOPEE) and now shall be held on 11.05.2025 (Sunday).”

The University of Jammu is expected to issue the admit cards for JKSET and LASET 2025 in the first week of May 2025. West Bengal SSC Madhyamik results 2025: The West Bengal Board of Secondary Education (WBBSE) has officially announced that the results of the Madhyamik Pariksha (Secondary Examination) 2025 will be declared on May 2, 2025, at 9:00 AM. The announcement will be made through a press conference by the President of the Ad-hoc Committee, WBBSE, as stated in a press note issued on Wednesday.
As per the circular signed by WBBSE Secretary Subrata Ghosh, students will be able to access their results from 9:45 AM onwards on May 2 via multiple official websites and mobile applications. Furthermore, schools will be able to collect mark sheets and certificates from their respective camp offices of the Board from May 2, 2025, 10:00 AM.
