One electrocuted, 3 injured during Muharram preparation in Giridih | Ranchi News – Times of India

Bokaro: A youth died and three others sustained serious burn injuries when a Tazia came in contact with a 11,000-volt high tension wire while they were preparing for Muharram procession in Giridih district on Sunday. The incident occurred around 11.30 am at Changosingha village. The deceased was identified as Mohammad Azad.“Some people were placing the Tazia when it came in contact with the high-tension wire. A person was killed and three others were injured,” Giridih deputy commissioner Ramnivas Yadav told PTI.Dhanwar’s block development officer, Devender Kumar Das said that the administration will extend support to the families. “This is an unfortunate event,” he said.“Probe will be conducted to find out if the wire was installed at a safe height. Also, the height of Tazia need to be probed,” said an official.
