Ranchi: The injured personnel, identified as assistant commandant G J Sai, and jawans V T Rao and Dharmendra Kumar, were immediately brought to the camp in Chakradharpur for first aid.
“Subsequently, they were airlifted to Ranchi for further treatment,” Shekhar said.
Though two of them are stable, the condition of Rao is critical, said Arvind Kumar, general manager of Raj Hospital, where they are undergoing treatment.
“As the radio operator stepped on the IED, his condition is a little critical. He sustained severe injuries in his right leg, and treatment is underway. All three CRPF personnel are out of danger.”
Jharkhand DGP Anurag Gupta said that by March 31, the state will be free of Maoists. “We are committed to take a decisive action against the rebels responsible for the attack. Several operations were carried out against them in the past and will continue to be so. Many were killed in operations, too. By March 31, all the remaining Naxals will be either apprehended or eliminated from the state,” the DGP added.
