Traffic regulation in and around Avaniyapuram for jallikattu on Thursday

Madurai City Police have announced regulation of traffic in and around Avaniyapuram from Wednesday night till Thursday evening in view of jallikattu be held on Thursday.

A statement said that no vehicle would be allowed to enter Avaniyapuram through Periyar statue junction in Avaniyapuram.

Similarly, no vehicle would be allowed to go to Thirupparankundram via Avaniyapuram Ambedkar statue junction. Those vheicles should go via Avaniyapuram by-pass road, Vellaikkal to each Thirupparankundram.

No vehicle would be allowed to go to Avaniyapuram from Thirupparankundram via Muthupatti junction. The vehicles should go via Vellaikkal junction, Kalkulam, Vellaikkal, Avaniyapuram By-pass Road or through Perungudi, the statement said.

All vehicles carrying bulls should go to Vaikkam Periyar Nagar Road and Vellaikkal ground for parking after dropping the bulls at Muthupatti junction.

Spectators coming to the jallikattu venue rom Madurai city should park their vehicles on D-Mart supermarket premises.

Vehicles coming from Perungudi and Sempoorani can be parked at a parking lot near K4 hotel, the statement said.

Vehicles coming from Thiruppurankundram and Muthupatti should be parked on SPJ school premises.

After the event, the bulls could be taken by vehicles from Avaniayapuram By-pass-Sempoorani junction, the statement added.
