Bhubaneswar: Odisha vigilance achieved a record-breaking case disposal rate of 237% in 2025, up from 162% in 2024, according to annual data released by the anti-corruption agency on Wednesday.“While 202 new cases were registered in 2025, a total of 479 cases, including those pending from previous years, were disposed of. This marks the highest disposal rate in Odisha vigilance history. By prioritising completion of investigations alongside detection, the agency achieved its best-ever disposal performance,” said vigilance director Yeshwant Jethwa.During 2025, chargesheets were filed against 766 accused, including 76 Class-I officers, 73 Class-II officers, 354 Class-III employees, 8 Class-IV employees, 35 other public servants, and 220 private people. A total of 108 cases ended in conviction, with a 50% conviction rate. In these cases, 135 accused were convicted, including 20 Class-I officers, 23 Class-II officers, 74 Class-III employees, 2 Class-IV employees, 11 other public servants, and 5 private persons.To strengthen prosecution, the agency intensified monitoring of trials in 22 vigilance courts. Additionally, 17 cadre public prosecutors and legal consultants were recently appointed to expedite investigations and trial processes.“In 2025, 202 criminal cases were registered and 212 govt officers and others were arrested. Cases were registered against 53 Class-I officers, including 1 IAS officer, 36 engineers, 17 forest officials, and 16 police officers,” the report said.The agency registered 49 cases of disproportionate assets, detecting DA worth about Rs 120 crore. It also registered 97 trap cases in which 114 people, including 105 govt officers, were caught taking bribes totalling Rs 26.27 lakh. During 2025, as many as 153 buildings, 18 kg of gold, 714 plots, 12 farmhouses, and deposits worth Rs 36.69 crore were unearthed, and Rs 8.81 crore in cash was seized.
