Ranchi: Handing over appointment letters to 1,910 candidates who cleared JSSC-CGL examination here on Tuesday, chief minister Hemant Soren accused the BJP-led opposition of conspiring to block Jharkhand govt’s measures to provide employment to the state’s people.Hemant termed the appointments as a New Year gift to the youth of Jharkhand. Speaking at the function, which was held in Morabadi Ground, he said, “Our govt believes in performance. However, all of you must have been seen the lows the opposition stooped to block the JSSC-CGL recruitment process. Those who opposed the process fleeced the poor job aspirants in the name of fighting a legal battle. They are organized groups. Next time such elements would be sent to jail.”Hemant said in the first year of his second term, the state govt handed out thousands of jobs. While over 9,000 youths were provided jobs a month back, a large number of ANMs, medical officers and others have also been appointed.“During their tenure, the opposition parties were unable to provide employment. Our govt is creating new opportunities for every section of the society. The BJP-led govt at the Centre is giving step-motherly treatment to non-BJP governed states. Funds worth thousands of crore, including MGNREGA, are pending. And now, they have changed the name of the scheme,” the CM said.Speaking at the event, finance minister Radha Krishana Kishore said 1.6 lakh vacant posts in the state govt will be filled up in due course. “As many as 3.99 lakh youngsters have registered with the employment exchange itself, he added.Minister Radha Krishna Kishore stated there were 1.60 lakhs vacant state government posts which would be filled up in due course but asked whether it would be enough. He said that 3.99 lakh youths are registered with employment exchange itself adding that under the circumstances alternate sources of employment must be created.
