2 accused persons arrested in Rajasthan trader murder case – The Times of India


Ranchi: Two accused persons have been nabbed in connection with murder of Jodhpur-based trader Pukhraj in Maranghada police station area of Khunti district on February 28, stated police on Friday adding that the crime took place following dispute over opium trade.
Khunti SP Aman Kumar informed the media that Anand Munda and Harsingh Munda have been arrested in the case adding that search is going on for the third accused person. A car, four bikes, an axe, a hammer, Rs 8.5 lakhs and the victim’s head have been recovered, he added,
It may be stated here that a headless body was found on Kujram-Chukru road in Maranghada on February 28. A special investigation team led by DSP Varun Rajak was formed to investigate the case. When the body was publicized in social media, the victim’s brother identified it. The SIT arrested the accused persons from Namkum area of Ranchi on Friday on basis of technical and scientific investigation.
The SP stated, “The accused persons have told police that Pukhraj had come to Khunti to illegally purchase poppy bulbs which is used for production of opium. A dispute, however, arose between him and Anand over previous payment. Anand and others killed him in his sleep and beheaded his body. The head was hidden in a forest in Namkum area.”
